Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a Manager, Mission Operations (Level 2) to support the Restricted Programs Sustainment and Operations (RPSO) Operating Unit within the Strike and Special Mission Aircraft Business Unit based out of Chantilly, Virginia.
You will work on pioneering projects that use innovation and creativity to solve complex problems. The focus is the successful delivery of projects to our customers, and you will be responsible for enabling the conditions required for the business unit to deliver its business effectively and efficiently. As the member of the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems onsite leadership team, you’ll work collaboratively the customer and within Northrop Grumman across the organization to facilitate smooth running operations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Ensure key operating processes for deployed aviation missions are clearly defined and achieve optimum performance
Responsible for establishing and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to allow the customer and NG team to monitor personnel and deployed system performance and effectiveness.
Ensure that customer services requirements and mission taskings are well defined and optimized for deployed asset collection. Coordinate operations across the customer and NG team.
Ability to manage multiple requirements in a fast paced environment
Accountable for the mission requirements at the PMO level and regularly interface with customer.
Deliver presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders.
Identify and manage program risks and opportunities for the operations team
Attain and maintain technical qualification
Nights/Weekends/Holidays support may be required
Up to 30 days consecutive travel may be required
NGSkills
Basic Qualifications:
A High School diploma and a minimum of 14 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries. A Bachelor’s Degree and/or 10 years experience, or Master’s and/or 8 years experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries may also be considered.
At least five years management experience within the defense and security fields within the engineering or program management domains
Ability to maintain FAA Currency
A FAA Commercial Instrument rating
Able to obtain a FAA 2nd Class Medical.
A current DoD Top Secret security clearance with ability to gain TS/SCI.
Ability to obtain and maintain the required Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission
Aviation/aerospace background with manned/unmanned pilot experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Military aviation experience
Salary Range: $151,900 - $227,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
