Job Description:

Northrop Grumman Defense System is seeking a Manager, Project Management (level 2) for a position at Chantilly VA location. The Manager, Project Management will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 10 years of relevant Program Management experience; Maters degree with 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of formal education, 14 years relevant job experience may be considered.

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager at the operations level.

  • Must have at least 5 years prior experience in planning and executing a quality management system to satisfy program/project quality requirements.

  • Must have at least 5 years prior experience to plan, identify, estimate, cost, acquire, schedule, and retire resources needed to satisfy program requirements within organizational constraints.

  • Proficient with MS-Office, MS-Project, Earned Value knowledge and experience, and standard program management principles and practices.

  • Experienced with direct interaction with all levels of an organization, up to and including VPs.

  • Must be a US citizen and hold a minimum active DoD Top Secret security clearance. Ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission is a condition of employment.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
