Northrop Grumman Space Sector is searching for experienced Sr. Principal Engineer Software to join the Launch Vehicles business unit to support the NGI Next Generation Interceptor Program in Chandler, AZ.
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the design and implementation of embedded software, simulation, and test tools through the full software life cycle for launch vehicles. The candidate will develop schedules, task a development team, track and report team progress, and support internal and external program and customer meetings for successful completion of the overall software project.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
The ideal candidate shall possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a minimum of nine (9) years of experience.
A security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance is required. Candidates should have experience with large software systems and the full software development lifecycle
Experience with Client/Server application software development
Proficiency with Linux and Linux based software development tools
Experience with CMM/SEI or equivalent software development process
Experience with space craft or launch systems software development is highly desired.
Integrate complex systems that facilitate continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous deployment
Preferred candidate should have experience with VMware infrastructure and automation
Must have direct experience with build tools (i.e., Make, Gradle) and continuous integration environments (i.e., Jenkins)
Strong direct experience background in Agile methodology, Linux/Unix/Windows Administration, and Virtualization technology
Experience with the full Atlassian tool suite (Confluence, JIRA, GIT, Crowd)
Ability to automate software builds and releases via Jenkins & Nexus
