Job Summary

Sr. Principal Mechanical EngineerUnder limited supervision, the candidate will develop complex dynamic models of launch vehicles, verify model quality, and determine static and dynamic launch vehicle loads. Candidate must be able to define scope of task, perform analyses utilizing appropriate classical and computer aided techniques, and prepare results for presentation orally and in writing. Must be willing to work with and mentor less experienced analysts.

Requirements for the job include:

1) In-depth knowledge of vibration theory, dynamics, statistics, and finite element methods

2) High proficiency in FEA software, preferably NASTRAN

3) High proficiency in MATLAB

4) Ability to apply fundamental analytical techniques and prepare written analyses


6) U.S. citizenship

Preferences for the job include:

1) Prior experience with coupled loads and modal analysis

2) Prior or current clearance

3) Ph.D.

Education and Experience

Requires BS in Engineering & 10 years or Masters in Engineering & 7 years or PhD in Engineering & 5 years.
