Principal FPGA Design Engineer III or Sr. Principal FPGA Design Engineer IV
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an experienced Principal FPGA Design Engineer III or Sr. Principal FPGA Design Engineer IV to join our Chandler, AZ facility.
This is a dual level Requisition and may be filled at a level II or III.
• Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to production
• FPGAs and SoCs such as Microsemi ( Polar Fire , Smart Fusion ) , Lattice ( Certus Pro)
• Digital signal processing and fixed point math with knowledge of scaling/saturation in FPGAs
• Model base FPGA design porting C/C++ or MATLAB code to VHDL targeting FPGAs/SoCs
• Familiarity with PID controllers
• Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
• Translate system level requirements into FPGA requirements
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability
• Design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for Launch Vehicle applications
• Industry interfaces, such as Space Fiber, PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART
• Familiarity with designs utilizing self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests, while tracking functional and code coverage a plus
• Knowledge of formal verification techniques for VHDL such as OSVVM ( open source VHDL verification methodology) is a plus.
Qualifications for Principal\Level III:
Requires 5 years with a Bachelor's in Engineering or 3 years with a Master's in Engineering.
Ability to obtain a DoD Active Secret Clearance is required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Qualifications for Sr. Principal\Level IV:
Requires 9 years with a Bachelor's in Engineering or 5 years with a Master's in Engineering.
Ability to obtain a DoD Active Secret Clearance is required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Salary Range: $99,500 - $149,300
Salary Range 2: $123,400 - $195,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
