Northrop GrummanInnovation Systems has an opening for a Non-Destructive Test Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at the Launch Vehicle facilityinChandler, AZ.
The selected candidate will be involved in the NDT Inspection of hardware supporting variousRocket Programs and must be NAS 410 Level II certified in RT and/or PT, UT.
Proficient in the use and application of technical management standards, principles, theories and techniques to provide innovative solutions to assigned tasks
Have a thorough understanding of RT Non-Destructive Inspection techniques and theories
Possess the ability to work independently to apply defect criteria to results for hardware that is being examined and communicate those results through strong written and verbal communication skills
The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:
Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) on rockets or components.
Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasonic, penetrant, eddy current, shearography, thermography and magnetic particle.
Requires certifications in non-destructive testing in accordance with regulations.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a factory environment and be able to collaborate closely with a multi discipline Engineering Team as well as Manufacturing and Inspection technicians to support day-to-day manufacturing activities.
High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
Level II certifications in multiple disciplines in accordance with NAS410 (UT, ET, RT, PT)
Ability to Obtain an Active DoD Secret/Top Secret or in scope SSBI/SCI clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
A minimum of6 years experience inspecting Rockets
AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience.
Level III certifications in multiple disciplines in accordance with NAS410 (UT, ET, RT, PT)
Active DoD Secret/Top Secret or in scope SSBI/SCI clearance
A minimum of 10 years experience inspecting Rockets.
