NG is seeking an experienced leader for our Guidance, Navigation and Control team. The GNC manager acts as a personnel and technical lead for the team. This role requires managerial skills as well as hands-on technical expertise. The manager position is responsible for appropriate staffing, staff management, performance, risk management, and continuous process improvement.

Northrop Grumman Space Sector is searching for an experienced Mgr Engr Nav and Cntrl 2- to lead the Guidance, Navigation & Control Team within Launch Vehicles business unit located in Chandler, AZ.


Guidance, Navigation & Control Manager for 20+ matrixed engineers supporting multiple Programs. Provide technical leadership and resource management to ensure timely resolution of issues affecting launch vehicle design and verification. Help resolve complex technical issues related to launch vehicle GNC design including failure analysis and corrective action. Prepare periodic technical reports and presentations for senior management to document status and go-forward plans. Additional responsibilities include management of department metrics and maintenance of department processes, standards, and command media.

  • Multitude Of Aero Related Analyses; Gas Venting, Inlets And Nozzle Flows, Aero Heating, Aero Damping, Simulation Dynamics, Silo Model Predictions, Etc

  • Modeling And Analyses Ranging From Subsonic To Hypersonic Flow Regimes

  • Utilization Of Typical Aerospace Aero Prediction Codes

  • CFD Use And Application To Aerospace Fluid Dynamic Problems And Predictions


Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering plus 10 years of guidance, navigation and control experience is required .

  • 5 years of leading or managing others is required

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required.

  • Ability to travel is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering is preferred
