Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a student pursuing an Information Systems or Computer Science Degree degree for an internship opportunity in Canonsburg, PA (near Pittsburgh). This role will support the metals industry supply chain and B2B integrations between business partners in that supply chain.
This is a program support position that also carries the opportunity to learn aspects of Cloud-Computing based Web Services Technologies, SQL, B2B integration, web development and QA skills needed for web-based application development. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic customer focused commercial environment requiring professional interaction with business partners on a daily basis to assist with both business and technical issues.
This position will involve training in web-based systems development, design, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. Also training in planning of system and development, deployment as well as meeting software compliance standards. Interns will involve in creation of required documentation, software unit/QA testing and maintenance of system corrections.
Pursuing a Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems/Technology or related field of study at an accredited college or university
Obtained at least Junior level status (by start of internship) in a Bachelor degree program or be enrolled in Graduate degree program
3.25 GPA or higher
Experience with at least one of the following: Java, PHP, ASP, JSP, ColdFusion or any of the .Net Languages
Experience or knowledge in Standard Software Development Cycles
Demonstrated ability and/or knowledge to provide good Software Documentation
Must be a team player, proactive, and possess excellent problem solving
Candidate must be highly organized
The ability to relay and receive information both verbally and written (a writing sample may be required)
Be able to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines, and be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite
3.7 GPA or higher
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL or simply SQL
Knowledge in modern Web GUI Design Techniques and best working practices
Demonstrated experience or knowledge in a development team environment using Version Control Software
