Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Expeditor 2 to join our Amherst Systems Manufacturing team. The Expeditor serves as the primary interface on the manufacturing floor working with manufacturing leads, assemblers, test technicians, stockroom personnel production planning, operations program managers (OPM) and quality inspectors.
The selected candidates' responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Expediting, routing, and dispatching manufacturing product, materials and ancillary components in support of specified manufacturing areas within their purview.
Responsible for prioritizing and organizing work on the manufacturing floor and the creation of manufacturing travelers.
Consistent communication with internal customers for status and manufacturing hardware.
Processing of Non-conformances (NC's) and disposition to the appropriate function
Accountable for reviewing and managing workload based on daily huddles, weekly production schedules and feedback from manufacturing leads and OPM's.
Expedite manufacturing orders on the manufacturing floor.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
6 years of relevant experience considered in leu of High School Diploma or equivalent.
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
Strong computer skills including experience in MS Word and MS Excel.
Experience multitasking in a manufacturing environment.
Willingness to change physical work locations based on operational need.
Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.
Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 year technical or business degree preferred with 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
Experience utilizing an ERP or MRP system.
Willingness to work overtime.
Demonstrate a continuous sense of urgency throughout the day to assure that all tasks are achieved in a timely manner.
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong administrative organization skills.

Salary Range: $39,600 - $66,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
