Northrop Grumman Staff Systems Engineer IV or V in Boulder, Colorado
Lead Ground-based technical design and development efforts for a multi-satellite/multi-ground station system under development by MDA to detect, track and counter emerging threats.
Lead NG Ground technical coordination efforts with customers, teammates, other segments (i.e., Space, Launch, Comms) and various program working groups and review boards.
Backfill for program managerial duties as required. Maintain and report on current schedule and task status and author technical volumes for follow-on proposals.
The Lead Engineer serves as the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and leads a multi- disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements.
Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities.
Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company.
Continually coordinates with the systems engineering and program leadership to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customer.
Bachelors and 9 years experience or MS and 7 years of experience
SECRET Clearance with willingness and ability to obtain additional SAP access(es)
Previous Program Engineer or Chief Engineer experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Willingness to travel (up to 10% of the time)
Ability to effectively guide and monitor technical efforts associated with a fast-paced, time-constrained and dynamic program
Experience with software design, development, testing and deployment
Ability to coordinate timely responses to customer, security, and PM requests across a geographically distributed team
Experience in TT&C, Mission Management, Sensor Processing (for target identification and tracking)
Experience in CAM, Scheduling, Proposals and Firm Fixed Price contract work
PM or Deputy PM experience
Previous work with the Missile Defense Agency
Role may be filled at a level V with Bachelors and 14 years and or a Masters and 9 years experience.
Salary minimum: $155,584
Salary maximum: $233,376
