The Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Exploitation (OES) team at Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Administrator/Principal Systems Administrator based out of Boulder, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
Primary responsibility is to support the hardware design, development, and integration of ground processing stations of satellite data. These systems have a mix of Operating Systems (AIX, LINUX, and Windows) in both development lab environments and deployed operational environments. Perform new server builds using a Chef and NIM based provisioning environment, and perform level 2 support for system configuration, setup, and requested baseline configuration changes. Duties may include scripting for optimizing IT environment, project management for defining and implementing upgrades to the IT environment, and serving as consultant for computer problems beyond the knowledge of engineering staff. Communications Systems Engineers must demonstrate a blend of engineering, advanced technical skills and excellent communication abilities.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate aptitude commensurate with their level in the following areas:
Administration of classified network systems within strict security policies and procedures
Good understanding of seven-layer OSI model
Authentication and Name Service design, best-practices, configuration & maintenance (LDAP, DNS)
Proficient in the administration of and working with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other common distributions
Defining, understanding & implementing computer lab requirements
Knowledge of and experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, ESXi, and vSAN
Knowledge of and experience with DoD security standards and systems hardening, such as DISA STIG.
Perform technical research leading to solutions for system
Provide troubleshooting and first level customer support
Creating accurate, detailed technical procedures & integration plans
Developing detailed documentation for Hardware Requirements Specification and High Level Design documents for deliverable systems

Systems Administrator: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 2 years of related experience in systems administration; 0 years with a Master's degree; 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
Principal Systems Administrator : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 5 years of related experience in systems administration; 3 years with a Master's degree; 0 years with a PhD; 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
Active DoD Secret clearance
Top Secret/SCI clearance
Knowledge of DevSecOps principals
Agile methodology experience
Shell scripting - bash, ruby, perl
Windows Enterprise server
Salary range for a Systems Administrator: $74,272-$111,408
Salary range for a Principal Systems Administrator: $91,960-$137,940
