Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer - Analysis 2/3 to join our team in supporting the software development and analysis of specialized combat systems that are providing advanced algorithms to improve tracking, prediction, and discrimination capabilities for emerging threats worldwide. Work on what matters!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performance analysis of missile tracking and prediction algorithms
• Analysis of space based sensor constellations
• Algorithm defect tracking and resolution
• Tool development (Python & Matlab)
• Technical presentations and analysis reports as required
Basic Qualifications:
• For Systems Engineer (Level 2): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math or related discipline and 2+ years of related experience; 0 years of related experience with a Masters
• For Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math or related discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years of related experience with a Masters; 0 years of related experience with a PhD
• DoD Secret clearance that is or has been active within the last two years
• Experience providing problem resolution and improvement recommendations with strong time management skills
• Analysis experience with complex, mathematically intensive systems
• Python or Matlab experience
• Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with C/C++ software language, development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs)
• DoD TS/SCI clearance that is or has been active within the last two years
• Experience in performance analysis, requirements verification, simulation, validation, and algorithms
• Strong Python skills
• Strong statistical background and skills
• Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Defense System
• Experience in tracking and prediction algorithms
• Ground systems experience in mission processing, ground communications, and space operations
• Experience in the numerical implementation of motion filters
• Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations
• Linux experience

Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800
Salary Range 2: $107,300 - $160,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
