Northrop Grumman C++ Real Time Embedded Software Engineer 2/3 in Bethpage, New York

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Software Engineer 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals working toward ensuring our country's security. We want self-starters who will be part of a team of software

professionals developing world-class software in a structured environment to meet our customer's high expectations. This position will be located in Bethpage, NY.

You will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including requirements, design, development, verification, sustainment and test support for our programs.

The successful applicant will have strong skills in C++ Real Time embedded system design and development. Knowledge of computer networking, modern software development environments, software configuration management tools is a plus. The selected engineer will work within a multi-disciplined product development team to develop software systems and tools supporting our defense products.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or level 3

Basic Qualifications for level 2:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or STEM related field and 2 or more years of software development experience

Strong C++ development in an embedded SW environment

Experience with UML/Model Based Engineering

Working Knowledge of MATLAB

Experience developing software for multiple operating system environments

Experience designing and developing software for embedded systems

US citizenship required

Ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance

Basic Qualifications for level 3:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or STEM related field and5 or more years of software development experience

Strong C++ development in an embedded SW environment

Experience with UML/Model Based Engineering

Working Knowledge of MATLAB

Experience developing software for multiple operating system environments

Experience designing and developing software for embedded systems

US citizenship required

Ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree in STEM

Active Secret clearance

Experience with analysis tools such as Wireshark, debuggers, or other low-level applications system analysis software/hardware

Experience with the Agile methodology

Familiar with tools such as Rhapsody, DOORS and ClearCase/ClearQuest
