Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector, Advanced Mission Capabilities (AMC) BU is seeking a Staff Contracts Professional to join our growing Contracts team. This open position is full-time onsite (with reasonable flexibility) based in Linthicum, MD and will primarily support restricted efforts.

The AMC BU supports technologies that drive major franchise programs. On a daily basis, we lead competitive captures, we partner with our program teams to contract for critical technology, and we use our contracts knowledge and experience to offer creative solutions for our business. Our contracts come in all shapes and sizes and support a variety of customers including USG, prime contractors, and restricted customers.

What You'll Get to Do:

Job Duties:

  • Act as primary interface with customer for contractual issues; Monitor contract and associated program to ensure that contractual obligations are communicated and understood.

  • Conduct proposal preparation, including negotiation strategy and proposal commitment reviews, to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Conduct contract administration and customer contact activities including research of contractual issues across applicable procurement policy including FAR, DFARS, NGC Principles and Operating Practices, and other resources, as appropriate.

  • Work under minimal supervision to develop solutions to both routine and complex contractual matters to ensure compliance with contract requirements on assigned programs.

  • Review and negotiate terms and conditions to address provisions and risks of financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, warranty, intellectual property, termination provisions, indemnification and all other potential risk areas and recommend risk mitigation strategies.

  • Prepare and manage written communications with internal and external customers for assigned contractual matters. Maintain excellent working relationships with customer counterparts.

  • Ensure timely delivery of all contractual deliverables and submission of invoices, proposals, and data calls.

  • Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements, manage contract changes, and maintain historical information.

  • Acts as a mentor to lead and advise junior level contracts team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years or Master's degree with 13 years of experience in contracts, Business management, Law or related work experience. 19 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Teams

  • Active/current DoD Secret Clearance

  • Experience with proposal development, negotiation, and contract administration.

  • Understanding of US Government and Commercial contractual instruments including contract type, terms and conditions, and contract financing vehicles.

  • Ability to work independently in a restricted environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to start, oversee, and follow-through with major assignments and responsibilities.

  • Team player, proactive, and strong problem solving and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of DoD Contracts Experience.

  • Experience with restricted contracts, FAR/DFARS procurements, OTAs, multiple contract types, IRAD dependencies, and data rights.

  • Recent experience administering large and complex contracts.

Salary Range: $126,600 - $190,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
