Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (MS) has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Band 3) for the Advanced Communication and Apertures (ACA) Operating Unit (OU). Planning Team! This position may be staffed as hybrid requiring onsite visits 1-2 times a week to our Baltimore, MD site.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support ACA Programs and Proposals from a GSC perspective with limited to no Management oversight.

  • Maintain a strong business acumen and ability to operate in a fast-paced development environment that consists of leading-edge technology suppliers and non-traditional supply base.

  • Define and develop material strategy.

  • Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements.

  • Interface with the supply base to track orders and resolve issues.

  • Support Statement of Work (SOW) creation for subcontract activities

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute material forecasting and delivery schedule.

  • Lead the Shop Order launch process, facilitate the Shop Order Non-Advocate Review (SONAR), and support execution through material receipt.

  • Manage/report and forecast material cost/performance of assigned program/s (Cognos, CMEs, IPRS, Earned Value), as well as provide training and support to peers and newer Planners on the team.

  • Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using both Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Non-MRP tools to support independent Bills-of-Materials (BOM).

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and on the job training to lower-level professionals and less experienced Program Teams on processes and procedures.

  • Collaborate with various organizations such as Program Office, Contracts, Business Management, Pricing, Material Estimating, and other GSC ACA personnel etc. to understand and ensure the overarching goals of the Division are being supported as well as the GSC organization.

  • Support onsite and in-person efforts in cleared area as required.

  • Candidate must be able to make sound decisions on time, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by the regulated industry.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, subcontracts, supplier management, procurement or project management OR a Master's degree and 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, subcontracts, supplier management, procurement or project management

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while also being able to work independently with limited oversight

  • Demonstrated experience purchasing material using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Non-MRP Tools

  • Demonstrated experience with material forecasting and variance reporting

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite with expertise in MS Excel

  • Proficient in the use of SAP

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • US citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience leading supply chain, subcontracts, supplier management, procurement, or project management.

  • An interest in and enthusiasm for developing and leading trainings, as well as supporting and mentoring teammates as they grow in their role.

  • Experience with Supply Chain functions for proposals including BOEs, Subcontractor Content, and the QUEST system.

  • CAM Certification / Earned Value Management Reporting experience

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

  • Ability to be agile and work in a fast-paced engineering environment

  • Experience with SAP/SAR Program

  • Previous defense experience

Salary Range: $84,600 - $127,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
