Northrop Grumman Principal Project Management in Baltimore, Maryland

Airborne C4ISR Systems, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Sustainment Operating Unit seeks support for the growing business. This position oversees and manages the operational aspects of a portfolio of ongoing projects that includes Performance Based Logistics programs. The position serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. The position will at times interface directly with the prime customer and suppliers. The positions reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. The position assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Problem solving and flexibility to adapt to a constantly evolving and growing business is required.

Understanding and application of project management and logistical principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Knowledge of defense industry and military logistics practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.

Able to follow prescriptive process and procedure and know when to challenge boundaries.

Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Impact

Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.

Liaison

Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations.

Basic Qualifications:

6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters

MS Office suite proficient including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Project

Must be comfortable in a very dynamic environment

Understanding of US government contracting

Self-motivated

Good communicator with interpersonal skills

Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical background in aircraft, radar, communications, electro-optical systems

Engineering or Logistics Degree

Former military
