Northrop Grumman Manager, General Manufacturing 2 in Baltimore, Maryland
The General Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 15 to 20 represented employees and processes in the Advanced Interconnects & Multilayer Solutions (AIMS) manufacturing area; a printed wiring boardfabrication environment.
Provide direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies including time charging approval
Assign manpower based on workload and assure adequate capacity is available through cross training
Lead employees in working closely with Manufacturing Engineering to support new product and process development
Assist Manufacturing Engineering in managing projects and provide cross-functional communication to provide awareness & status
Drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness with regard to quality and productivity
Plan and develop reasonably aggressive fabrication schedule commitments and execute to achieve on time delivery
Lead employees in carrying out manufacturing operations in a safe, secure and environmentally compliant manner
Engage with employees to achieve their highest potential
The General Manufacturing Manager will work independently across organizations, manage the use of consumables to achieve budget targets, assign and manage AIMS technicians to maximize efficiency and achieve target productive yields, and implement defined process improvements to enhance affordability, quality and schedule. She/he must have strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast paced and changing environment.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) Bachelor's or Master's DegreeOR Bachelor's degree with related technical experience
5 years of relevant professional experience
2 years of experience demonstrating leadership skills and abilities including program, project, and/or people management
Experience in manufacturing, engineering or operations environment with emphasis on electronics hardware
Ability to obtain Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required.
Engineering or Operations Management preferred
Technical experience that includes one of the following: Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or IndustrialEngineering, Materials Science
Knowledge/experience in printed wiring board design/manufacture
Working knowledge of MRP systems; SAP preferred
Experience in Continuous Improvement or Corrective Action
Experience working in an environment where employees are represented by a union
Experience preparing and managing multi-million dollar spending budgets
