Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector, Airborne Multifunction Sensors Division (AMS), Tactical Fighters (TF) Business Unit (BU) is seeking a Contracts Manager 1 to join our team. This position will support the development programs in the Sensor Development and Production Operating Unit (OU) and will report to the OU Contracts Manager. The development programs are fast-paced / ever-changing and involve a significant amount of proposal work.

This position is located in Linthicum, MD on a hybrid schedule .

What You'll Get to Do:

This manager position will lead the Development Contracts Team to deliver strong customer satisfaction, successful financial performance, and risk mitigation, while ensuring proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer requirements. The successful candidate will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the PMO Director, Program Managers, Business Management Team, GSC, Engineering, and other functional teams as necessary.

Responsibilities of the Sensor Development Contracts Manager include:

  • Supporting proposal and negotiation efforts with existing customers;

  • Training, leading, and mentoring a team of four (4) contracts professionals; and

  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.

The Sensor Development Contracts Manager must possess the ability to work collaboratively with the Program Team, effectively manage external customers, and provide guidance and direction based upon the requirements of the contracts. The successful candidate must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and be a strategic thinker.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience working in Contracts Administration or related field or 3 years of experience with a master's degree

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Contracts Administration in a FAR/DFARS environment

  • Experience negotiating and administering various contract types of varying sizes and various types of agreements

  • Strong proposal development skills, solid negotiation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to prioritize and pivot when priorities change

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in DoD contracting, prior experience with the USG and/or major defense contractor customers

  • Demonstrated 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience

  • Experience working development programs

  • Current DoD Secret clearance is a plus

  • MBA or JD is a plus but is not required

Salary Range: $97,200 - $145,800

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
