Northrop Grumman Manager 2, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance in Baltimore, Maryland

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a ManufacturingEquipment Maintenance Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at our BWI campusoutside ofBaltimore Maryland.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with both technical and managerial experience to lead the Electro/Mechanical Maintenance team. The candidate will need to leverage prior hands on experience of repair and maintenance of highly complex equipment, machines, and systems to lead and support a multi-disciplined repair for the 21st century automated manufacturing and test facility.

The work will include:

  • Setting priorities, managing department goals, managing budgets, and overtime

  • Management of 20-25 individuals within the Maintenance Department

  • Setting priority and creating methods to achieve department goal of zero equipment down time on critical systems

  • Supporting ISO and quality audits

  • Ability to document and standardize task and efforts

  • Experience with maintaining and purchasing spare parts and tools

  • Tracking and reporting on purchase order and period of performance of repairs and services

  • Managing represented employees and interacting with Labor Relations

  • Working to company policy, business conduct and standards

On a daily basis, the Manager is responsible for:

  • Delegating assignments to staff members

  • Overseeing the priority scheduling of all service work, including "rush" jobs, routine repair jobs, and preventative maintenance

  • Coordination of maintenance of Electromechanical equipment , repair of PLC devices, maintenance and retrofit of HVAC-R systems, equipment maintenance and retrofit

  • Supporting troubleshooting of test equipment and computer systems

  • Documenting and tracking tasks including tickets and repair status

  • Securing and managing outside vendors to complete equipment repair and maintenance

The Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Manager must be able make decisions independently.He/she must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues while creating a proactive maintenance strategy for the department to increase Factory Equipment Utilization and minimize equipment downtime. The chosen candidate must have excellent communication skills and strong computer skills.


Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

**High School diploma or GED and at least 12 years of relevant experience; candidates with an AA degree need only 10 years of relevant experience and candidates with a Bachelor's degree need only8 years of relevant experience.

**Experience working in a maintenance environment

**3 years of Management experience

**Experience with Micro-processor based control instruments including meters, recorders, transmitters, PLCs, PC based HW/SW and sensors

**Experience with Electro/mechanical systems

**Experience with HVAC-R, Temperature vacuum chambers, and cascade refrigeration

**Experience managing and maintaining internal and external suppliers for repair and maintenance tasks

**Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance. This requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

**Experience working in a DoD manufacturing maintenance environment

**5 years of Management experience

**Experience with Proactive Preventative Maintenance and Calibration planning and execution

**Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 6-sigma with ability to achieve zero down time

**Experience with repair of RF Factory Test Equipment with working knowledge of Operating System and computer hardware repairs

**Experience creating troubleshooting and maintenance documents

**Experience with SAP and shop floor control systems

**Proven record of managing overhead budgets and capital equipment request

**Active Secret Security clearance
