Northrop Grumman Manager 2 - Business Development and Strategy Operations - Space ISR Division in Baltimore, Maryland

The Space ISR Systems Division within the Mission Systems Sector seeks a dynamic Business Development (BD) Mission Solutions and Strategy Operations Manager to lead and provide support to division staff, business units, operating units, and program managers to enable high performing program execution. The position reports to the Division Deputy Director of Business Development and Operations / Horizontal Initiatives and is located in Baltimore, MD.

In this role, the candidate understands the Division Business Development objectives, ensures all activities are aligned with these objectives, interpreting and developing organizational strategies, roadmaps, policies and practices as needed to meet the division's financial, non-financial and growth goals. The selected candidate will:

  • Collaborate withthe Business Development, Mission Solutions, and Strategy Directors and Managersto ensure effective planning and operations of action items and other BD,Mission Solutions, and Strategy level requests.

  • Collaborate withmultiple functional organizations (engineering, security, mission assurance,supply chain management, business development (Sector), strategy (Sector), etc)to define strategies that enhance BD, Mission Solutions, and Strategy operationaleffectiveness and efficiency.

  • Manage captureand risk assessments and mitigation with a strong focus on compliance, andensuring that performance standards are met across the Division

  • Identify divisionfocus areas for improvement/streamlining, development and execution ofoperational initiatives, monitoring of operational goals and sector-specificobjectives, and elimination of non-value-added activities at all levels in theorganization.

  • Ensure allprojects are delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard.This includes detailed project planning and control, managing project scope andchange control and escalating issues where necessary.

The candidate will assist the Division Director of Business Development and Strategy in multiple activities, and requires an understanding of the restricted customer community, program management skills, proven strategic planning and business execution capabilities, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across the enterprise.

Dutiesand Responsibilities:

Coordinate all non-Baltimore facilities needs with appropriate on-site facilities personnel.

Coordinate, track and execute all BD Mission Solutions, and Strategy Action items from planning through action close out.

Establish & maintain a business battle rhythm. Improve operational systems, processes and policies in support of the Division mission - includes management reporting, information flow and management, business development process and organizational planning

Work in close partnership with all functional areas to achieve Division goals

Partner with the business development, strategy, mission solutions, and business management teams to maximize investments. Support LRSP planning, and provide information on investment expenditures to the BD and Strategy Director, ensuring the division stays within allocated budget.

Conduct regular meetings with team to discuss issues, concerns and resolution

Work in compliance with company policies and procedures


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreeand at least 6 years progressive technical experience in an engineering orBusiness Development environment.

  • Managementexperience in programs, engineering, operations or related technical fields

  • Excellentcommunications skills both verbal and written

  • Understanding oftechnical, cost, schedule impacts on a program

  • Understanding ofbusiness development and capture strategies

  • The willingness and ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.

  • Current Secret Clearance or higher with theability to get SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years ofexperience in program management

  • Knowledge of business opportunity database systems (ex. Workbench)

  • Demonstratedability to understand detailed program financial performance; strong problemsolving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and provideguidance to effectively bring projects to completion

  • Demonstratedleadership ability

  • Excellent written and oral communicationskills, be highly collaborative, team oriented, have strong people leadershipskills, and be able to effectively multi-task competing priorities andschedules across the Division.

  • Strongorganization skills and the ability to quickly respond to a variety of demandsare essential.

  • Excels atoperating in a fast pace, diverse environment and can adapt to change

  • Experience inorganizational effectiveness and operations implementing best practices

  • Delegatesresponsibilities effectively

  • Current TS/SCIClearances
