Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Software Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position is in the software organization located in Linthicum Heights, MD, and placement will be commensurate with qualifications. The Software IPT Lead is the technical authority responsible for all aspects of software engineering on a program or family of programs. This individual is expected to coordinate, plan and manage the technical performance for a program or multiple programs to meet proposed scope, cost, and schedule requirements.This leadership role includes:

  • Coordinating the software engineering aspects of proposals assuring the technical requirements are properly addressed and the estimates are executable

  • Serving as the software engineering point of contact to program/functional executive management and the customer for technical issues and engineering performance

  • Identifying and resolving technical problems that occur during the proposal or execution of the program

  • Ensuring the program adheres to software engineering processes during development, test, delivery, and sustainment of products

  • Ensuring the program is in compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards for engineering

The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, anda collaborative/team setting.The candidate should have the ability to lead a team to incorporate advanced technological concepts into a deliverable product. Self-motivation, organization, attention to detail andeffective verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or STEM-related discipline with 9 years of experience, or Master's Degree and7 years of experience, or PhD and 4 years of experience

  • Experience leading engineering teams through the proposal, design, test,and production phases of a program

  • Experience shouldencompass project planning, cost/schedule management and tracking, technology management, risk management, performance reporting,vendor selection and management, and program staffing

  • Familiarity with a structured, process driven software development environment including peer reviews of all work products, using a revision control system, defect tracking and build release practices required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance with Special Access Programs (SAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with DoD customers and programs

  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects

  • Knowledge of radar systems software

  • Proficiency in AGILE, C/C++, and real-time processing including: processes threads, scheduling, synchronization mechanisms and memory management required.

  • Knowledge of drivers and middleware (RTOS, Linux and/or VxWorks)

  • Knowledge of anti-tamper techniques (cryptographic, secure comms, logging, SW deployment)

  • Experience with test framework/application and system verification

  • Active US Security Clearance at a Secret level or above.
