The Service Asset and Configuration Management team of Northrop Grumman's Austin office is seeking a Software Asset Management Analyst to assist in maintaining a highly accurate Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This Information Technology position is tailor made for analytical thinkers and detail oriented individuals. Northrop Grumman's Austin office is a member of the Technology Services sector, whose mission is to be a trusted partner of mission-enabling information systems for the security and well-being of our nation and allies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Software Asset Management Analyst will support the Service Asset and Configuration Management group with respect to control, compliance, and business objectives as pertains to customer software assets. The successful candidate will be comfortable working closely with customers at all levels from technical system administrators to procurement managers. Work locations will alternate between the Austin, TX offices of Northrop Grumman and the customer's local offices. Duties include the following:

  • Support the maturity and execution of Software Asset Management (SAM) services and processes

  • Interpret large quantities of data and develop reports for internal and external customers

  • Take an active role in achieving operational effectiveness

  • Develop, implement, and refine SAM processes and contribute in achieving program goals

  • Assist in planning for and customization of Configuration Items (CIs) and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

  • Support the procurement and renewal of IT hardware and software maintenance contracts when requested

  • Perform verification and audit of Configuration Management databases including periodic software inventories

  • Maintain quality of CI information stored in the CMDB

  • Track and maintain current state of software license throughout an asset's lifecycle

  • Track software license entitlements and usage and report license compliance positions

  • Respond to requests for CI changes and updates from Change Management

  • Conducting customer meetings including delivering presentations

  • Provide CI information and reporting upon request.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience or 7 years of experience to satisfy the education and years of requirement

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel (Vlookup and Pivot Tables)

  • Asset Management experience

  • Must be a Green Card Holder or a US Citizen
