Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Sr Principal Software Engineer based out of Aurora.
The Woodford program has a need for an experienced software developer with background in the areas of command and control, processing/archive, and system modeling. Responsibilities will include integration and test of COTS & custom software for multiple subsystems into a baseline, performing installation and checkout, and assisting in deployment and participation in interface validation.
Candidate will work in a dynamic and changing environment supporting multiple tasks and must work well in a team environment where daily tasking can shift with little notice. Must be able to communicate effectively over the phone and in writing. Some travel will be required.
Minimum Qualifications for Sr. Principal SW Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 9 years software development experience.
Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly
Ability to decompose large, complex problems in components and envision their interactions, Technical presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with minimal direction and oversight.
Command and Control experience.
Agile software development using Java and/or C++ software development experience in a RedHat Enterprise Linux environment
Experience with Bash scripting
Knowledge of object oriented design
Experience with supporting operational systems
Experience with supporting distributed systems
Experience with supporting multithreaded systems
Experience with writing and interpreting Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Experience with Networking protocols (TCP, UDP, Multicast, etc.)
Experience with developing Python scripts for machine to machine interfaces
Experience with working in Virtualized Environments (VMs, AWS Cloud Instances)
Experience with source control software (Git, Clearcase, etc.)
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Experience with ClearQuest
Experience with Development IDEs (Eclipse, NetBeans)
Experience with software build languages (Ant, Maven, Make)
Experience with Google Protocol/Protobuf
Experience with XML (XML Schemas, JAXB)
Experience with AWS Development/Deployment
Experience with JMS Servers and Clients (Apache ActiveMQ Artemis, IBM WebSphere MQ)
Experience with In Memory Data Grids (IBM WebSphere eXtremeScale, Apache Ignite)
Experience with NOSQL Databases (MongoDB)
