Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to fill an experienced Sr. Principal Engineer Systems in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This position is located in Aurora, CO.

This position is for a Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team and responsibilities include act as Product Owner for distributed team working on Loki mission processing thread. lead work definition and decomposition from CONOPS and high-level requirements into workable epics and stories, and support analysis of alternatives on sensor and data sources which enhance the overall system capability for the targeted mission.

This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled as either a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Engineer : BS in Electrical, Computer, Systems or other STEM related degrees with 5 years of experience. Or a MS with 3 years of experience. Or a PhD with 0 years of experience.

  • Sr Principal Engineer: BS in Electrical, Computer, Systems or other STEM related degrees with 9 years of experience. Or, a MS with 7 years of experience. Or a PhD with 4 years of experience.

  • Active TS/SCI

  • Experience with (scaled) agile program execution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Systems engineering experience (e.g., with requirements development and management, ADDs/ICDs/TDDs, modeling and simulation, and/or integration and test)

  • Atlassian Tool Suite: Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence

Salary Range: $102,400 - $153,600

Salary Range 2: $127,000 - $190,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
