Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Quality Inspector based out of Aurora, CO with the ability to support inspections at both our Aurora, CO and Centennial, CO locations.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Perform receiving, in-process, first article, final, and pre-shipping inspections in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements.

  • Document and maintain a record of nonconformances of parts, materials, and assemblies to requirements, drawings, specifications, and processes.

  • Reviews supplier paperwork, verifying material pass/fail criteria against engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements.

  • Verify and inspect parts received using parts list and material specification criteria.

  • Count and tag boxes and individual parts.

  • Read chart records to determine material shelf life and expiration dates.

  • Complete computer processing and status of material acceptance.

  • Establish mandatory inspection points for in-process inspection of different assemblies.

  • Verify assembly conforms to the approved assembly instructions and engineering assembly drawings during the assembly process.

  • Document and track any process and product nonconformances observed during inspections.

  • Make pass/fail decisions on inspected parts, materials, and assemblies.

  • Record and manage inspection results.

  • Assure documentation represents "As Is / Should Be" requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and 5 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment or 2-year technical degree and 2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret security clearance.

  • Experience with computer-based Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and shop floor control databases.

  • Ability to lift and move items up to 25lbs.

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time with some bending, and twisting.

  • Experience with aerospace (ex. AS9100) and/or industry (ex. ISO 9001) standards for quality.

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications especially Microsoft Word & Excel.

  • Proficient in reading assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and engineering drawing parts lists.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a highly technical aerospace/manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Experience in defect reporting

  • Experience with EEE and/or RF inspection and measurement

  • Experience with GD&T measurement

  • Familiar with procurement RMA process

  • Familiar with ESD control practices

  • Familiar with FOD control practices

  • Familiar with calibrated tools and equipment control practices

  • Familiar with government and/or other industry counterfeit part prevention requirements

Salary Range: $55,100 - $91,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
