Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 2 to join our team and be based out of our site in Aurora, CO. This position provides relocation assistance based on the right candidate. This position will require some travel, up to 25% of the time. An active TS/SCI is required at time of start.

The MA Manager will lead a team of Mission Assurance Engineers that support a critical program ensuring delivery of high quality products and maintaining compliance across the organization and critical suppliers. The MA Manager will plan and execute the Program's MA plan using measurable goals and effectiveness criteria in support of the overall business strategy of the unit, division and sector. The Mission Assurance Manager reports to the Integrated National Systems Mission Asssurance Business Unit Manager.

This position has senior leadership influence, acts as thought leader and requires a candidate with strong executive presence and decision-making skills with the ability to lead in an environment of ambiguity and continuous change.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Influences Leadership development with the focus on strong succession planning and strategic leadership movement and partners with Business leaders to build the leadership depth that supports our Mission Assurance Succession Planning process.

  • Establishes strong business relationships with Client leadership teams, and creates effective partnership across all the client leadership teams: Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain as well as the Profit and Loss Organizations.

  • Sets the strategy to meet customer's expectations, regularly communicates program status.

  • Provides situational awareness and executive level communication both internally and externally.

  • Directs and coordinates all site quality assurance functional disciplines including Quality Control, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Programs and Quality Systems per ISO 9001 standards and other internal/external compliance standards and regulations.

  • Leads operations for the Mission Assurance function with geographically dispersed locations inclusive to administration of budgets, schedules, and performance standards as well as leading proposal efforts for the Mission Assurance team.

  • Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality in accordance with contractual requirements and drives forward early predictive indicators of risk.

  • Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission success.

  • Plans and manages department's manpower, budget and physical assets.

  • Plans and implements professional development and career management programs for site MA engineers.

MAQEA

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.

  • Five (5)+ years of experience in Mission Assurance, Software Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Systems Engineering.

  • Five (5)+ years of leadership experience.

  • Possess an ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI clearance. US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in an engineering field.

Three (3)+ years of experience in Space Programs focused on Ground processing of satellite data.

Five (5)+ years of experience managing teams.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.

Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt certification to drive continuous improvement.

Demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical skills.

Experience with technical and project management.

Proven ability to be resourceful, well-organized, able to multi-task and coordinate assignments.

Leader in a team environment with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
