Our growing Aurora, Colorado team is comprised of approximately 700 engineers, developers, technical and business professionals. It is part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems data systems operations. The facility is situated across from Buckley Air Force Base which is home to the 460th Space Wing. The site also sits within a 2 hour drive to Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as several world-class ski resorts perfect for our employees who take advantage of Northrop’s flexible work arrangements.

Northrop Grumman Corporation is looking for a Software Engineers to support an important program in Aurora, Colorado.

Principal duties include: Software Engineers will work on the development, integration, and maintenance of a complex, operationally deployed systems. Candidate must possess the ability to work as a member of a small, highly skilled team in a dynamic environment and participate in systems design, code development, GUI updates, debugging, and integration and test of modifications/enhancements into the operational baseline. The position also requires an individual with the ability to work on technical challenges and to provide innovative solutions, to include troubleshooting the operational system, implementation of new capabilities for future versions of the system, and support to test and documentation personnel. The position requires the ability to successfully interact with end-users, customers, and developer personnel. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

This position may be offered at a higher level based on the qualifications.

Basic Qualifications for a level 2:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering, or related technical degree with 2 years software development experience or 6 years experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

  • C, C , or Java experience

  • Linux experience

  • Knowledge of Virtualized Environments

  • Knowledge of object oriented design

  • Knowledge of software lifecycles

  • Must have and be able to maintain TS/SCI security clearance

  • Must be able to successfully receive their Security certification within six months of joining the team.

Basic Qualifications for level 3:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering, or related technical degree with 5 years software development experience or 9 years experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

  • C, C , or Java experience

  • Linux experience

  • Knowledge of Virtualized Environments

  • Knowledge of object oriented design

  • Knowledge of software lifecycles

  • Must have and be able to maintain TS/SCI security clearance

  • Must be able to successfully receive their Security certification within six months of joining the team.

Preferred Qualifications for level 2 or level 3 :

  • Front end/user interface development

  • Experience with relational or object oriented databases (Accumulo, IBM DB2, Geowave)

  • Experience with source control software (Clearcase, SVN, GIT)

  • Experience with REST API modeling and RESTful services.

  • Experience with Python programming language.

  • Experience with supporting operational systems

  • Experience with Niagra Files (NiFi)

  • Experience with Agile Development lifecycles
