Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Principal Database Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Arlington, VA.

The Principal Database Administrator shall be responsible for creating and maintaining all databases required for development, testing, training, and production usage and work closely with USMS staff. The Lead Database Administrator shall perform capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases. The Lead Database Administrator shall maintain the required Agile certification throughout the program's period of performance.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 5 years of project management experience -OR- Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 3 years of relevant project management experience

  • Possess an Agile certification from a recognized certification authority such as Scrum Alliance, Project Management Institute, ICAgile, etc.

  • US Citizenship is required in order to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods

  • Experience leading teams of Data Engineers performing data ingestion, extract, transform, load (ETL), and SQL analysis operations.

  • Experience designing, creating, and maintaining databases in a client/server environment, and conducting quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.

  • Experience with projecting long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function and presenting recommendations to senior officials.

  • Experience advising users on access to various client/server databases.

  • Experience applying knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end/back-end programming languages and performing database programming and supporting systems design.

  • Experience maintaining database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
