Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer or a Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer. The selected candidate will report to the Northrop Grumman site in Apopka, FL .
What You'll Get To Do:
You will have opportunities to support the design, integration, test, and production of laser and electro-optical, network and communication systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Developing complex programmable logic code/VHDL designs and generating design requirements and test documentation
FPGA programming and hardware testing and debugging
Supporting the generation of detailed electronic schematics, CCA drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs) for electronic designs
Supporting other engineering disciplines in the integration and test of electronic systems
Generating engineering change notices (ECN), updating models / drawings, and releasing appropriate documentation into Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) databases
Performing root cause corrective action (RCCA) for hardware failures
Performing work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team; perform successfully in a fast-paced, work environment.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Electronics Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant, professional experience or a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant, professional experience
US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Experience in full FPGA design flow including generating design requirements, performing RTL/gate level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis, writing test benches and performing formal code verification
FPGA architecture and design experience with Microchip, AMD (Xilinx) and/or Intel (Altera) FPGAs and their application environments
Experience with circuit board level debugging of FPGAs
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline and a minimum of 9 years of relevant, professional experience or a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline and a minimum of 7 years of relevant, professional experience
US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Experience in full FPGA design flow including generating design requirements, performing RTL/gate level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis, writing test benches and performing formal code verification
FPGA architecture and design experience with Microchip, AMD (Xilinx) and/or Intel (Altera) FPGAs and their application environments
Experience with circuit board level debugging of FPGAs
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering is preferred
Experience translating higher assembly level requirements into programmable logic design requirements
Experience writing FPGA physical constraints and solving complex FPGA timing issues
Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
Experience writing programmable logic code for serial interface protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
Experience using vendor supplied IP cores in programmable logic designs
Circuit design, integration, test and troubleshooting experience
Experience performing electrical component selection and part obsolescence BOM reviews
Experience with hand soldering, assembling, and repairing wire harnesses and other electronic assemblies
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications
Experience with military vehicle and aircraft standards and specifications
Salary Range: $90,400 - $135,600
Salary Range 2: $112,000 - $168,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
