Northrop Grumman Director of Undersea Strategic Growth in Annapolis, Maryland

The Director of Undersea Strategic Growth will be responsible for the development and implementation of Northrop Grumman Undersea Systems (NGUS) strategic planning, investment planning, market assessment, competitive assessment, opportunity pursuits, pipeline management, and customer engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with all of the Maritime/Land Systems and Sensors (MLSS) Business Units as well as other Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Divisions to develop undersea and multi-domain solutions to meet customer capability needs. The Director of Undersea Strategic Growth will have shared responsibility for developing the NGUS Long Range Strategic and Annual Operating Plans, and for creating, cultivating and capturing a pipeline of business opportunities to support those plans.

This position will report to the Director, Strategic Growth for the MLSS Division and will principally work with and support the Vice President, Undersea Systems for the Business Unit's strategic growth. This position will be responsible for activities and personnel at Northrop Grumman Undersea Systems campus in Annapolis, MD and will include some travel. The position requires familiarity and relationship management with Navy Undersea Warfare customer base including Requirements/Resources Sponsor (OPNAV N97), NAVSEA and NAVWAR program offices, and the Navy warfare labs. The candidate should also have contacts and knowledge within the Department of Defense including OPNAV N9 organization, OSD, PEO(IWS), PEO(SHIPS), PEO(USC), and NIPO.

Responsibilities include:

· Long-range strategy development and investment planning

· DoD budget analysis

· Leading the annual strategic planning process

. Significantly contribute to the Division's Unmanned and Undersea campaigns

· Lead the Business Unit's internal investment execution process

· Identify and target new business markets and partnerships to create value growth

· Achieving new awards and sales goals

· Manage the business acquisition processes (BAP) within Undersea Systems

· Identify new business opportunities and adjacencies

· Plan and build sustained customer relationships

· Develop and implement internal and external communication plans

· Interface to sector and corporate business development and strategy organizations

· Develop and implement trade show activities

Travel: be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

Location: The candidate can be based in the Northern VA or MD area, but a significant amount of time will be required at Northrop Grumman Undersea Systems in Annapolis, MD


Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree

7 years of relevant experience in DoD planning, programming, budgeting and execution

Experience in Navy research and development and/or Navy acquisition programs

Past experience in the Navy Undersea Warfare Community

Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree

10 years of relevant experience in DoD planning, programming, budgeting and execution

Demonstrated accomplishment in Navy technical development and acquisition programs

Demonstrated leadership role within the Navy Undersea Warfare Community

Top Secret/SCI clearance

Existing clearances into relevant Special Defense programs
