The Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA who likes to work in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a difference. You will see the fruits of your labor realized as real mission users employ your system and make new requests in an agile environment. You will be part of a highly-responsive team who builds the highest quality software products for our national security customer.
The DBA will be responsible for managing mission-critical SQL Server databases for cloud based applications and will administer all aspects of the SQL Server databases and be able to install, patch, upgrade, configure, and maintain SQL Server binaries and databases.
In addition, the DBA will:
Experience utilizing modern methods, such as Agile, Automation and DevOps.
Tune, administer, create and maintain SQL Server instances.
Develop and document procedures for backup and recovery of databases.
Perform backup and recovery.
Update, maintain, and implement security policies in accordance with client requirements.
Implement mitigations of security vulnerabilities.
Advise and coordinate future architectural changes with the development teams.
Provide support for software deployments.
Coordinate with developers on database updates.
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience; 4 years with a Master's degree.
DBA experience with SQL Server 2016.
Demonstrated experience managing mission-critical and operational databases.
Advanced knowledge and ability to support application developers in writing database queries and triggers.
U.S. citizenship and an Active Top Secret clearance.
3 years' experience utilizing modern methods, such as Agile, Automation and DevOps.
SQL Server Certified Administrator (OCA).
Application Database Experience.
Unix/Linux Operating System experience.
Capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and incorporate these needs into technical solutions.
Team player able to work under tight deadlines while juggling multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
