Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a highly experienced and proactive leader as Manager, Programs 3 in the Communications, Integration & Asset Protection (CIAP) Operating Unit (OU). This individual will be responsible for leading the day to day operations of a growing $40M/year organization.The new leader will be challenged to maintain the existing business and achieve profitable growth across the entire operating unit. Responsibilities include developing new market growth and business strategies, while maintaining technical performance and enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction.

The position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, a winning attitude, strong customer engagement skills, and business savvy. Knowledge of program and integrated product life cycles as well as the overall government budgeting, acquisition, and contracting processes are required and will be key. This individual will have functional responsibility for all customer-facing aspects of the department.

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

•Develop new business opportunities through long term strategic planning, capture planning, and development of proposals and business plans.

•Lead, promote and ensure customer satisfaction

•Coordinate across sector, business and operating units to generate new business, and support revenue and profit growth across the operating unit.

•Cultivate customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community.

•Prepare and present professional briefing materials for customers and corporate leadership.

•Manage the day to day business of the department and individual programs including responsibility for the Profit and Loss (P&L).

•Support engagement activities for employees and ensure their professional development. Attract and retain the best possible personnel.

•Approximately 25% travel for customer visits, Northrop Grumman requirements, and personnel site visits.

•Leverage onsite customer integration to grow current customer base and new relationships on behalf of Northrop Grumman.

•Serve as key interface to Northrop Grumman executive leadership, to include facilitating reach back to other parts of Northrop Grumman who may possess skills, technologies, or expertise to benefit department

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree, in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Business or related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience of leadership and management in the Department of Defense customer space.

•Familiarity with US Army mission command applications, customer environment at Aberdeen Proving Ground, and through understanding of the Army's development and acquisition process.

•Must be a US Citizen and have Active DoD Secret clearance

•Experience communicating with US Army Acquisition programs and senior leaders.

•Proven, effective track-record in customer relationship management

•Exceptional project management skills and Strong negotiation skills

•Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

•Business Acumen:The ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance.

•Capture Management:Insight into customer technical and business (financial, political, cultural) requirements and the ability to shape customer expectations with a solution that satisfies their needs and is advantageous to the company.

•Communications:The ability to manage communications with stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that program information is defined, collected, shared, understood, stored and retrieved in a manner that effectively meets program and stakeholder needs.

•Customer intimacy:Consistently makes time to seek and incorporate input from customers and understand their expectations. Demonstrates commitment and energy to meet customer needs. Builds strong relationships with strategic partners and key suppliers. Guides program team and support functions on how to take action to satisfy customer expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Prior customer experience as military or civilian strongly preferred

•Demonstrated ingenuity in identifying new users for existing solutions

•At least 5 years of experience with complex US DoD communications environments

•At least 5 years of experience doing business at DISA, Aberdeen Proving Ground, or Picatinny Arsenal

•Retired senior military officer or senior manager.

•Prior military experience with understanding of "command climate" and military infrastructure.

•Demonstrated team player with ability to work in a dynamic changing environment

•Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly

•Experience marketing, selling, and supporting operations for integrated hardware and software products

•Knowledge of Agile, Lean, and DevSecOps

•Advanced technical degree or MBA

•PMP Certification
